Society of Nuclear Pharmacy

Learning about the PUR-1, Indiana’s only active nuclear reactor, with Dr. Robert Bean, nuclear engineering professor and director of the PUR-1 facility. These kinds of facilities can provide sources for radioisotopes.

The PUR-1 does not manufacture nuclear pharmacy isotopes or produce energy on a regular basis. Its primary purpose is to teach students about reactor physics fundamentals and operations. It is also a neutron source to support various research projects and departments on campus such as nuclear pharmacy, health science, engineering, and agriculture.

Our Tues 4/9 meeting (5:30pm RHPH 164) will have officers and chairs talk about their responsibilities for the club. Come to this meeting to learn about what position you'd be a great fit for. You can apply for multiple positions.

Officer elections are Thur 4/23 5:30PM RHPH 164.

Great visit with John Zehner of Indiana based company SpectronRx in Nov ‘18. Mr. Zehner, a visionary entrepreneur and Purdue nuclear pharmacy alum shares his experience in building a radiopharmaceutical and isotope manufacturing facility and lab, and the new wave of radiotherapeutics.

Career building workshop this Wednesday October 17th at 5:30pm in RHPH 162!
Mock interviews and polishing your resumes/CVs, so be sure to bring an updated copy to the meeting. Great way to prepare for the Pharmacy Days Career Fair next week!
