Called one of "The 16 Finest Frat Castles In All The Land" by COED Magazine, ΦΚΣ is a part of Purdue's history as one of the oldest fraternities on campus. Phi Kappa Sigma was founded upon the core values of Trust, Honor, Respect, Responsibility, Knowledge, Wisdom, and Integrity. Our historic house was originally built to be the Mayor’s Mansion for the town of Chauncey, before it was called West L
afayette. Our chapter purchased this house in 1911 and we have been here ever since. As we have been here for this long, the modifications to the house are truly designed to be beneficial to fraternity life; from the first addition put on in the mid 1960’s, to the removal of the Annex in the mid 1990’s, the current layout and structure of the house is designed for the brothers, by the brothers. Our members come from all corners of the United States, from New Hampshire to Florida; from California to Washington, Texas, and North Carolina. This combination of backgrounds provides us with a diverse atmosphere in the house. Over the years, this has become one of the chapter's most prized characteristics. Together as a fraternity, we are proud of the fact that there is no “typical brother”. Simply put, the diversity of our brotherhood is what makes it strong, unique, and incomparable.
