** VIP Summer Spotlight**
Meet Kyle Massa: "I am a Junior in Electrical Engineering, and last semester I was a part of the Image Processing and Analysis (IPA) VIP team led by Dr. Edward Delp and Dr. Carla Zoltowski. Within IPA, I was a member of the Human Action Recognition sub-team. This semester, I will be joining the Global Active Problem Solving EPICS team working on projects in Brazil and Haiti with a focus on solar energy.
I had the opportunity to intern for Whirlpool in St. Joseph, MI this summer in its engineering rotational leadership development program. My central task was to assist the Dryer Performance and Algorithms in creating the programs that control every facet of a dryer's operation. I am incredibly proud that some of the files I created will be used in models going to production later this fall, and I have no doubt that the professionalism I learned in VIP played a large role making my internship a success!"

Meet Sara Wendte! She was a member of the Image Processing and Analysis team last semester where she worked on solving an action recognition problem using machine learning. She is using these skills this summer at her internship with John Deere in Des Moines, IA. She's designing a new feature for application equipment that will help pave the way for a fully autonomous sprayer. This fall, she looks forward to returning to Purdue as an ECE grad student in the CNSIP area.
