The College of Liberal Arts spotlighted a major innovation from FORCES Inc., a Purdue‑affiliated startup founded by faculty and alumni. Led by Sorin Adam Matei of the Lamb School of Communication at Purdue University, the team launched Virtual D‑Day, an immersive simulation of the 1944 Normandy invasion.

The tool reconstructed the terrain, units, and actions of D‑Day and was released on the online gaming platform Steam. Developed with contributions from Purdue researchers and students, Virtual D‑Day was integrated into Purdue’s online strategy and defense programs as part of Purdue Computes and America250 initiatives.
