This month's Featured Article follows Lucia Morton and highlights how she is showing what the future of space diplomacy looks like. Through Degree Plus, she’s pairing Political Science Department - Purdue with aerospace engineering to understand not just how we explore space, but why we go and who gets to lead the way.

From NASA Langley to MIT Lincoln Laboratory to tech diplomacy in D.C., she’s proving that the next generation of aerospace leaders will need both technical excellence and policy insight.

Chuck Jones (LA’81) shows what that looks like in practice. A proud CLA alum, he earned degrees in industrial design Purdue University: Rueff School of Design, Art and Performance and engineering, a combination that reflects Purdue’s Degree Plus program. This interdisciplinary foundation shaped a career that spans global companies, groundbreaking healthcare technology, and leadership at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum.

Chuck has earned more than 1,000 international design awards and 43 patents, and his work has been displayed in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art and The Louvre. He now serves as chief design officer for GE HealthCare.
