The XSeries is a sequence of student-run performance opportunities hosted by the Division of Dance and includes XWorks, Xperimental and Dance Xchanges.
Shows are performed within the studios and surrounding architecture of Pao Hall at Purdue University.

Choreographer: Anna Leighty
Anna is exploring the concept of give and take by utilizing not traditional partnering and weight sharing concepts with her dancers. Throughout the piece, the dancers are exploring movement that supports one another and movement that resists and goes against each other.

Kira is trying to capture the reality of facing continual resistance and criticism. It portrays the physical and emotional toll of constant perseverance, while highlighting the determination required to push through exhaustion and self-doubt. She wants to utilize the song’s musicality and blend the contemporary style with moments of technical ballet. We are excited to see her piece in XWorks.

Ava is exploring the concept of sonder in her dance, the profound realization that everyone has a life just as vivid, complex, and chaotic as everyone else! We are so excited to see her piece in XWorks!
