Cyclosporiasis, commonly known as the explosive diarrhea illness, has been spreading in multiple US states within the Midwest and Northeast regions, with the bulk of reports being from Michigan, Ohio, and New York.

We can greatly reduce our risk by applying basic food safety knowledge to your kitchen and produce such as

✅Washing produce under running water and scrubbing firm produce

✅ Removing outer layers from whole heads of lettuce and green onions

✅Cooking produce to 158°F when possible

✅ Washing your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds
