From festivals to holiday celebrations, summer is full of large gatherings. This week’s safety tip is focused on helping you stay safe when in crowded places.

Summer is here, but that doesn't mean safety disappears! For the month of June, CARE will be posting themed tips to help keep you safe as you’re away from campus. This week features some general tips to remain safe this summer and some bonus tips for using dating apps as you're in different places!

If you or someone you know has experienced intimate partner violence, you are not alone. Taking care of yourself can look different every day, and every small step counts. Purdue CARE is here to support survivors with confidential advocacy and resources.

You do not owe anyone constant access to your time, energy, location, or body, even on vacation. Healthy relationships respect boundaries without guilt or pressure. Take care of yourself this summer and prioritize the people and spaces that make you feel safe, supported, and valued.

As we head into Memorial Day weekend, it’s important to prioritize both fun and safety. Whether you’re spending time by the water, out with friends, or enjoying the warm weather, staying mindful can make all the difference. Take care of yourself and look out for one another because a safe community is a stronger community.
