Today marks the adoption of Purdue's oldest and loudest mascot, the Boilermaker Special! The BMS was presented as the official mascot of Purdue University on September 11th, 1940. The Boilermaker Special has since served as the official mascot for 86 years! There have been 8 iterations thus far with the 9th version on the way! We the members of the Purdue Reamer Club, the sole caretakers, are glad to wish the Boilermaker Special a Happy Birthday!!
