Hawthorn Academy includes two campuses: a K-9 school in West Jordan and a K-6 school in South Jordan
Hawthorn Academy schools are tuition-free public charter schools that focus on the teaching methodology of the International Baccalaureate program and strive for high academic achievement. Hawthorn Academy has campuses located in West Jordan and South Jordan. The West Jordan campus opened in fall 2009 and serves elementary and junior high students. The South Jordan campus opened in fall 2015 and serves elementary students.

Their unique, skill-based learning tracks combine hands-on activities with student choice, offering topics ranging from entrepreneurship and public speaking to STEM innovation and creative arts.

5th Grade at the West Jordan Campus had some exciting visitors! We love doing creature encounters, and this is a great way to introduce STEM in the classroom and get them hands on experience.

Our South Jordan Campus got an exciting addition! Thanks to Cox Automotive and Captain Planet Foundation, we got some new garden beds for students.
A few classes got the opportunity to build the garden boxes, fill them with soil, and plant some new vegetables, herbs, and more! We are so excited to expand our STEM opportunities for students.

The Book Fair is returning to both campuses, and we will be running a BOGO sale! The Fair encourages students to read AND raises much-needed funds for our school. The easiest way for kids to pay is with an eWallet. Create one for your child so they can shop cash-free and independently!

Our students became little lab rats for a day! It was so awesome having UofU at our South Jordan campus.

Our West Jordan Campus has their Elementary House Bash coming up on May 15th from 5:00-6:30 p.m.
We will have food trucks, bounce houses, games, face paint and MORE! We are so excited. Come celebrate the end of the school year and beginning of summer with us.
