RESPONSIBILITIES:

The cook / kitchen supervisor is responsible for overseeing the cooking, cleanliness and oversight of the kitchen each day.

The kitchen regularly feeds 150 + kids and adults, and is responsible for ensuring production of breakfast, lunch and snack each day and needs to be able to work at a fast pace.

The kitchen supervisor is responsible for tracking production and inventory of food each day, and assisting with food orders.

HOURS: Full Time: 7:00 – 4:00, but can be flexible as needed.

Pay: $11+/ hr, Depending on Experience.

REQUIREMENTS:Must have valid drivers licenseMust be 21 or older
· Must have a current Utah Food Handlers permit
· Must be able to pass background / FBI screen
· Must have 1 or more years cooking / production experience.

· Pay: Our payrates are competitive with the industry, and there are opportunities for bonuses and pay increases throughout the year. The payrate is dependent on experience and other factors, based on each individual applicant. · Reduced or Free Childcare: ABC Great Beginnings offers reduced Childcare, depending on the age of your child. Rates will be negotiated during the hiring process.
· Free Meals – Breakfast, lunch and snacks are provided, and teachers are encouraged to eat with the children to teach proper etiquette and manners and to be able to have open discussions about food groups, nutrition, etc.

· No Evenings or Weekend Shifts: All but 2 of our centers are closed evenings and weekends. Most centers close by 6:30 or 7:00 each night

Position Description:

Our Child Care Cooks are responsible for providing nutritious meals to our children in a safe and timely manner using a set menu and recipes. The Child Care Cooks are responsible for always maintaining a clean and sanitary environment in the kitchen and classrooms. In addition to Head Cook duties, the candidate will be helping with school bus runs periodically, so must be willing to learn to drive a 15-passenger vehicle.

Characteristics of a successful candidate are:

Enjoy cooking - experience preferred, but not necessary.
Love Children (preferably 6-12 months experience in a daycare setting)
Ability to follow a recipe and make adaptations where needed
Ability to record how much is used and fill out basic paperwork
Ability to do clean and sanitize using provided products
Ability to drive a 15-passenger vehicle (or learn how) - no CDL needed
Ability to address physical, emotional, social and intellectual needs of each child
Ability to collaborate and cooperate as a team member with other employees
