What was once a large area of thirsty turf is now a thriving Localscape! This Jordan Valley Water Conservancy District Booster Station has been transformed into a beautiful, waterwise landscape that’s saving water, supporting pollinators and other wildlife, and proving that sustainable landscapes can be both functional and beautiful. 🐝💧
 
Every couple of weeks, our team stops by for routine maintenance... and honestly, it takes less time than most people expect, even for a landscape that’s only a year old!
 
We’ve documented this transformation from start to finish, and we’re excited to share the entire journey with you! But before we do, we want to hear from you.

Think creating a beautiful, waterwise landscape is only for experienced gardeners? Think again! 🌱

With no previous landscaping experience, this homeowner transformed her entire yard herself using free resources from Localscapes and Conservation Garden Park.

She wanted something more vibrant than a traditional lawn—something full of color, texture, and purpose. Today, a flowing river of red creeping thyme creates a stunning focal point (and a favorite spot for buzzing bees 🐝), while providing year-round interest and habitat for pollinators.

Her entire yard reflects Localscapes principles, with in-line drip irrigation, inviting pathways, thoughtfully selected plants, and plenty of lessons learned along the way. Her advice? Start small. Choose a few plants you love, scatter them throughout your landscape, and let the process teach you.

She never expected to learn so much about plants, or to have neighbors regularly stop by in awe of her yard! Since planting in 2023, she has continued to share what she’s learned, inspiring neighbors and others in her community to rethink what’s possible. 💚
