Tuned Is Better

When you buy a used piano or have one given to you, what else are you bringing into you house?

Monday, I cleaned and tuned the grand piano for the high school choir room. Now it has a beautiful sound so the choirs can tune their beautiful voices.

Be aware that a gift of a piano may come with a little extra inside. This mouse nest and the resulting droppings can sure make a nasty clean-up and cause a lot of keys to stick. That's where I come in...😉

I like being able to find the beauty under the dust of older baby grands.🙂

Pianos need regular tunings just like a car needs regular oil changes. Without them, the service may be more extensive.

Its nice when a client emails their neighbors and gets them to call me to tune their pianos.😃

Changes in temperature can really affect the pitch of of your piano so please avoid placing you piano close to a heating duct or cold air return.

Here are some pictures of another reason to never place your piano directly over a heating/ cooling duct.

I always vacuum pianos before tuning them. Its all part of the service.
