It's that time again... time for me to beg for your help! The teachers return on August 8th and we want to kick off the year by making them feel at least somewhat as valued as they are. There are 500 vacancies in DCPS which means continued stress on them, so even though it's small, we want to do what we can to start the year in a positive way.

Our school theme this year is RVD, Where Great Minds Are Crafted so we are going to celebrate the minds they are crafting in students every day with creative gifts. You can help in any of the following ways:

- Donation of gift cards to raffle off (Amazon, target, coffee, food, anything!)
- Donation of 40+ items to put in a teacher gift (flair pens, colored post it notes, expo markers, snacks, drinks, etc)
- Sponsor the above items by sending Venmo or cashapp donations
- Sharing this post so others can donate

Starting tomorrow, July 16th, people who need emotional support or who are experiencing mental health distress will be able to CALL or TEXT just three numbers, 988, to reach the National Su***de Prevention Hotline.

This hotline gives users access to trained counselors who can help them with mental health emergencies and assist them in finding additional resources.

Hi everyone!

I made an Amazon wish list to get RVD ready to open for the upcoming school year. Our theme is “RVD, Where Great Minds Are Crafted. As you may or may not know, administration and teachers spend, easily, over $1,000 of their own money every year with very little reimbursed. We do this not for props, but because it is right for our school, staff and students! If you are able to purchase any items, we would be so grateful! Anything will help! Thank you!

If you do NOT sign up for Bus Transportation by July 18th- your child will not have a bus stop. Please follow the directions and sign your child up for bus services ASAP.

Registration Information
We are slated to open Extended Day registration on July 18th
• Parents who already have an account can register using that same account
• New families to district will need to create an account

***If a student has a debt from the 2021-22 school year, please ensure that family satisfies all previous debt before Extended Day enrollment can occur for the 2022-23 school year. Our office will cross check the Eleyo system records and remove any student from the program that we discover has an outstanding debt from last school year.

Due to high website traffic during the opening of registration, you may experience an error message when trying to get to the registration page. If you do experience this, please exit out of that page and try opening it again. We will make every effort to accommodate your extended day needs for .....

People are asking how the money from a 1-mill referendum will be spent if approved on Aug. 23. The biggest chunk goes to teachers and staff to help us retain educators and fill more than 500 teacher vacancies now in the district. Arts and athletic equipment also get a boost. The district’s citizens audit advisory committee will oversee the spending.

Parents and Guardians-
FSA scores, for Reading and Math, are available to view in your parent FOCUS account.
How to locate the test scores:

In the Focus account, on the left you should see a list with your child(rens) name. Click their name, then just underneath it says child info, click that, then a list pops up just to the right, and at the bottom it says testing- state tests. You will see the score there.

5th grade Science scores are NOT yet in.

Good afternoon RVD Families,

As we wrap up this last week of school, We wanted to make you aware of a few things.
Students will NOT BE ABLE to bring a backpack to school on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Please keep ALL bags at home.
The dismissal time for this week is normal, except this Friday. On Friday, May 27th, the last day of school, students will need to be picked up at 11:45 am. We will begin car riders at 11:45 am and keep the line moving quickly. All students should be picked up before 12:00 pm.
Also, on Friday, there is NO EXTENDED DAY, all extended day students should be picked up from school.

We have enjoyed our school year with our wonderful students and we are looking forward to welcoming them back for the 2022-2023 school year on August 15th.
