Fourth graders on their very first CEE overnight trip to Camp Bob Waldorf last week embraced the motto of DO, RISK, GROW. They challenged themselves by trying archery and the ropes course, going on a nature hike, and scaling the climbing wall. It was inspiring to witness them encouraging one another, celebrating each other's efforts, and embodying the spirit of ā€œchallenge by choice.ā€ The fun continued into the evening with trivia games and a classic campfire with s’mores. Reflecting on their experiences, students shared proud moments and expressed gratitude for their friends’ support.

The Class of 2026 enjoyed an amazing trip to San Francisco last month! The students started their trip with the classic SF experience of riding cable cars, and everyone loved learning how they work. The class then enjoyed a delicious lunch in the Mission District and an exciting visit to Alcatraz!

The second day began with a ferry ride to Angel Island. Our students quickly demonstrated how much they had learned this year by making connections to the novel ā€˜The Dragon’s Child’. Later in the day, the students walked across the Golden Gate Bridge and ended the evening with a fun outing at Topgolf.

On the final day, students had a engaging visit to Chinatown and the Exploratorium. The SF Trip is always a wonderful opportunity for learning and bonding at the end of the sixth grade year!

On Friday, May 8, over 500 guests joined us for Grandparents’ and Grandfriends’ Day at CEE! Students and teachers look forward to this day every year. Grandparents enjoyed a morning breakfast program featuring words from Head of School Damian Jones, Grandparents’ Council Chair Colette Ament, a performance from the casts of ā€˜Annie’, and a keynote talk from Dr. David Agus, CEE Alumni Parent and leading doctor and pioneering biomedical researcher and author. Following the morning program, grandparents visited their grandchildren in their classrooms, viewed the Elementary Art Fair, and took photos together in our photobooth. It truly is a cherished CEE tradition!

Leapin’ Lizards! ā˜€ļø What an incredible run! Our Community Center was transformed into Broadway earlier this month as three different student casts brought the magic of Annie to life. From our enthusiastic actors and dancers to the dedicated student crew managing the backstage magic, our CK-C6 students poured their hearts into every scene. Thank you to all the families, friends, and faculty who filled the audience to support our hard-working casts. šŸŽāœØ

Fifth graders presented their Fifthsonian U.S. History research projects last week in a dynamic showcase for fellow students, teachers, parents, and grandparents! Students did original research on their chosen topics, creating artifacts and writing research papers to share their knowledge with the community. The creative projects ranged from the Alamo to Alcatraz, and everyone learned a lot!
