Rather interestingly intimacy is the death of desire. If you want to reignite that spark in your relationship then a bit of distance will do the trick. I'm not talking emotionally I talking physically. If you are constantly around your partner you cannot miss them. You cannot long for them and it's the anxiety of longing and wanting to resolve that feeling that causes desire to peak.

Someone else's opinion isn't truth. It's just their perception of you. Very often when someone criticizes you it says more about the critic than yourself. If it's an emotional or mean 'matter of fact' statement about you it's unlikely to be that logical. In your mind reframe the criticism as feedback and because feedback can be valuable ask yourself "Is there any truth to this? Can I learn anything from this?" If not then let it go it's just someone's mean opinion. Always take a moment to consider it but you can choose to not let it in if it's not helpful.

A lot of people think they can't be hypnotized but the vast majority can. It's quite rare that someone can't be hypnotized. Some people require certain inductions or longer inductions to get them relaxed enough but most people (if they want to) can go into trance. Here is a quick test to see if you can visualize. Close your eyes and think about the color of your front door. Some people may picture it in their mind's eye and others will simply know the color as it is beyond their conscious awareness. Just because you can't see the image doesn't mean you can't go into trance.

Today begins Women's History Month. Hypnosis has been a male dominated industry with women depicted as living props under the thrall of the male hypnotist. Pat Collins turned this idea on its head. She discovered hypnosis after recovering from a nervous breakdown and later mastered the art of hypnosis using her knowledge to help others learn about self hypnosis as well as creating a nightclub act that she performed in her own nightclub on the Sunset Strip. In her heyday she was earning around $4000 per week and she even appeared on an episode of 'I Love Lucy' where she hypnotized Lucille Ball. She is considered a pioneer of hypnosis as entertainment and was one of the first hypnotists to be honest about what hypnosis could do and couldn't do. We honor you Pat Collins! Even to this day you are still hip.

Bodies are AMAZING no the matter the size. You have to love yourself where you are. Even if you are trying to lose weight it's much harder to achieve that if you don't love and accept yourself right now, as you are. Not when you are 10lbs lighter but right now. If you are struggling to feel good about your body then think about all the amazing things your body does for you. All the opportunities it allows you to have.

I learnt this hard lesson during my divorce. I didn't think I could get back up but I did. It made me into who I am today and because of that experience it has equipped me to help others to get back up.

As well as being a Clinical Hypnotherapist and Life Coach I have also been a personal trainer for over 16 years now. Exercise should be a part of your life and you are better off coming to terms with it sooner rather than later as it's harder to build muscle as you get older and muscle allows you to eat more food. Woohoo! However, you have to make exercise fun or you'll be highly unlikely to stick at it. Find your thing. Maybe it's swing dancing all night? Maybe it's rock climbing? Who knows you may find you adore power lifting! My point is find out what you enjoy doing physically and do that. Our bodies were designed to move so I highly recommend finding time in your life to move, regularly. Make sure you break a sweat. You'll thank yourself in a few years time.
