🍂 Chemistry Doesn't Have to Be Overwhelming This Fall! 🧪

This fall, A Friend In Chem's Introductory Chemistry Bootcamp is back with a new format designed to help students succeed while they're taking chemistry, not after they've fallen behind.

Over the semester, we'll follow the topics that most chemistry instructors cover as they teach them. That means you'll learn each concept as it's introduced in class, giving you extra practice, live instruction, and the confidence to stay ahead of exams.

Whether you're taking General Chemistry for the first time or want extra support throughout the semester, we're here to help you succeed.

📚 Enrollment is now open! Visit https://afriendinchem.com/bootcamp to learn more and reserve your spot.

How many times have you found yourself learning advanced chemistry concepts only to realize you've forgotten some of the fundamental building blocks?

Research consistently shows that students learn best when they have opportunities to revisit and reinforce what they've already learned. That's why we've introduced Refresher videos at A Friend In Chem. All of our Refreshers can be found on our website or on YouTube here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLAbIKUjKyf2g

Each Refresher combines recaps from multiple introductory chemistry lessons into one streamlined review, giving students a quick and convenient way to revisit essential concepts whenever they need them.

Whether you're a student preparing for an exam, a parent looking for extra support, or a teacher recommending supplemental resources, our Refreshers are designed to make chemistry a little more approachable.

We're constantly expanding our Refresher library and would love to hear from you. What chemistry topics would you like to see featured in a future Refresher?

When most people think of an element, they think every atom of that element is exactly the same. But the reality is a bit more complicated; many elements exist as different isotopes. Although atoms of the same element have the same number of protons, isotopes of that element can have different numbers of neutrons.

Isotopes play a critical role in chemistry and beyond. They help scientists determine the age of ancient artifacts through radiometric dating, allow doctors to diagnose and treat diseases using medical imaging, and provide valuable insights into chemical and biological processes.

Understanding isotopes is an important step in understanding the structure of matter itself. Which is why we put extra care when covering the topic ourselves. We made our Isotope Series to serve as the perfect introduction for anyone looking to learn. You can find it here:

Welcome to A Friend In Chem

Chemistry can feel overwhelming at first. Between the formulas, calculations, vocabulary, and problem-solving, it’s easy to feel lost or discouraged. And that’s exactly why we created A Friend In Chem, a website where chemistry is taught clearly, patiently, and in a way that actually makes sense.

Our mission is simple: help students build confidence in chemistry by breaking difficult concepts into understandable steps. Whether you’re a high school student preparing for exams, a college student taking introductory chemistry, or someone looking for extra support outside the classroom, you’re in the right place.

Because at A Friend In Chem, we believe learning chemistry should be more than memorizing equations. We provide the resources you need to help you understand why concepts work so you can apply what you learn with confidence.
