Mehre Iran School

Mehre Iran School Mehr-e Iran School in Connecticut is an educational entity affiliated with the Foundation of Iranians of Connecticut (FIOC).

Mehr-e Iran School was established in 2003 to serve the Iranian-American community in Connecticut. MIS is an affiliate of the Foundation of Iranians of Connecticut (FIOC), a non-profit organization. Its academic year consists of two semesters with approximately 40 students from various age groups. MIS also teaches various aspects of the Iranian culture by upholding and celebrating cultural events.

MIS offers curriculum based Farsi classes at the University of New Haven (UNH) location to serve the Iranian-American community.

International Mother Language Day has been observed every year on 21 February since the year 2000. It was created by the UNESCO to promote linguistic and cultural diversity and multilingualism.The theme of International Mother Language Day celebration 2024 is “Multilingual education is a pillar of intergenerational learning”. Today, 250 million children and young people still do not attend school and 763 million adults do not master basic literacy skills!
