Tonight at 6pm is “The Material of the Beloved” Paperclay Demonstration by Julie Chen
Cremation is a common practice around the world for handling the remains of the dead. Artist Julie Chen considers cremains as a material in her work. She will demonstrate the use of Creative Paperclay as a non-toxic paper-based sculptural medium that molds like clay, but behaves like paper after curing. It is the perfect material for folding in your loved-ones ashes to make something new with them.

This demonstration will take place during the closing reception of the “Ephemeral Streams” exhibition.

Don't miss the free workshop today!! “Gestures with Nature” with Kathryn Cooke June 18th from 10-11am!!

Gestures with Nature offers a creative opportunity to consider how nature communicates through gestures. During this workshop we will provide a safe space to question and discuss this idea, practice mimicking gestures which we discover, and finally learn the gestural language of the wetland rushes from the Columbia Wetlands of Canada.

Location: Outside sculpture building, HAS, Meet at Joseloff Gallery entrance.
