We are a community based cooperative and educational center offering classes and co-op memberships. JunkPot Studio is a ceramic studio owned and operated by husband and wife team Pedro and Naomi Centeno located within the design district of West Hartford, Connecticut. iduals of all levels can explore the medium of clay. We offer both hand building and wheel throwing classes designed to not only advance your skills, but to foster your innate creativity. Self-expression is highly encouraged and the sharing of ideas are welcomed within this clay loving community. Our studio space consists of ten Brent pottery wheels, two slab rollers, an industrial sized extruder, pug mill, and a plethora of work shelving and tables. Students have access to a wide variety of tools, colored slips and glazes.

Looking for a community that’s supportive and welcoming? Want to learn a new skill, learn a trade, or simply get creative while getting your hands dirty?

At JunkPot Studio, we take pride in fostering a space that does all of the above. Our goal is to teach you a strong foundation in working with clay while sharing the studio with a supportive community of makers.

This 2-day hands-on workshop will cover all the basics of making and working with plaster press molds to make utilitarian pottery. Participants will learn the fundamentals of design and modeling prototypes in clay, along with mixing and pouring plaster molds. We will utilize both decorative (sprig) molds and form molds to create dynamic forms and stunning surfaces. Blair will demonstrate his process for creating pots using a variety of press mold techniques. All skill levels welcome.

It’s that time of year again! 🎄

Every December, Junk Pot Studio hosts our annual Winter Holiday Market, and we’re now accepting vendor applications!

We’re looking for talented makers working in:
• Textiles
• Jewelry
• Fine Art
• Handmade Crafts

Vendors must be able to commit to both days of the market, December 12th and 13th. We’re looking for active makers who regularly create and sell their work, and applicants should be prepared to share images of their current work.

When I opened Junk Pot Studio a little over five years ago, I never imagined we’d have the opportunity to host artists whose work has inspired me for so long. It’s something I don’t take for granted, and I’m excited to share these experiences with all of you. Our 2026 workshop series start in a few weeks. Michael Kline will get things started August 15th and 16th followed by Blair Clemo September 19th-20th. Candice Methe October 24th-25th. Austin Coudriet Ceramics November 13,14&15th and wrapping up the year is Taylor Sijan November 21st & 22nd. Each artist brings a unique perspective to clay, and whether you’re looking to strengthen your foundations, push your creativity, or simply spend a weekend immersed in making, there’s something here for everyone.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support Junk Pot Studio and helps make opportunities like this possible. I can’t wait to welcome these artists into our space and share these weekends with our awesome clay community.

Summer Semester Starts July 6th. Seats Still Available!

Looking for something to do during the hot summer months? Maybe it’s time to get a little creative.

Join our pottery community, learn a new skill, and meet some genuinely awesome people along the way. And yes, our studio is air-conditioned, which feels pretty nice when it’s 90° outside.
