⭐️ Anchor Award Spotlight on Nancy Pantirer '77 ⭐️

Meet this year's winner of our Distinguished Alum Award: Nancy Pantirer '77 (HAS)! Nancy is an artist who primarily creates large-scale abstract paintings, establishing what she describes as an ongoing, thought-provoking dialogue between order and randomness.

Based in New York City, Pantirer continuously explores painting techniques, employing highly chromatic washes, drips, splashes, and swipes of color to study light and movement. She also integrates minimalist borders and hard-edge geometric forms into her work. Pantirer frequently experiments with natural processes, such as using rain-soaked paper and dyeing pieces with coffee and cinnamon.

Join us in congratulating Nancy on earning the 2026 Distinguished Alum Award in-person or virtually at the 2026 Anchor Awards ceremony taking place on Thursday, September 17 at 7:30 p.m. in the Wilde Auditorium.

This may look like a list of cities your favorite band would stop at on tour, but it’s really an (abbreviated) list of everywhere President Ward has had the opportunity to connect with our alumni at some really fun events. As he says, "there is no such thing as a great but disconnected university."

At the heart of our effort to invest in the student experience, is the transformation of the Konover Campus Center through The Landing—a vibrant, welcoming hub where students can come together, build friendships, and create the same kind of lasting memories that made your time at UHart so meaningful.
