I developed a resource tutorial covering Tracing by Color, Cutting by Color and Layering multi-color designs with your Cameo. The link leads to a 4 page PDF file which is printable. To view and read PDF files you need to have the free Adobe Reader program. If you don't have it on your PC you can download it at the link in comments.

Trace by Color is only available in Silhouette Designer edition and up. If you have Basic Edition you can still use this tutorial by skipping the first steps and starting with a 2 or more color design that is already traced. Hint: Trace, ungroup and fill your pieces with color then group your design again. Depending on the design, you may have to "release compound path".Happy Crafting! TIP FOR TODAY! Do you want to save money and get the cleanest, easiest cuts on the materials you use with your Cameo? I STRONGLY suggest you purchase a CB09 blade holder and blades. Cuts intricate, small detail with ease. Comes with 3 different size blades. I use the 45 and 60 degree blades with my Silhouette Cameo. They both cut HTV and adhesive vinyl with ease. They are less expensive than Silhouette brand blades when you compare how many blades come with the set and how long they last. I am a heavy user and just one blade lasts a year or more. There is no comparison to either the standard or the premium Silhouette blades. I have used them all. When you receive your set you simply put the blade in the holder and adjust until you can feel it with your finger but can't see it with your eyes. I use it to cut everything and never adjust blade depth, just force depending upon the material being used. Once you go CB09 you will never look back.
