PACKER STAFFER OF THE WEEK: Kelsey does an incredible job creating a welcoming, supportive environment for everyone who walks into her classroom—students and coworkers alike. She is intentional about making her space feel inviting and safe, which helps students feel comfortable taking risks and being themselves.
Kelsey is also a strong advocate for her students. She consistently works to ensure that each student’s needs are understood and supported, especially those with special needs. She takes the time to meet students where they are and provides the right level of support so they can be successful. Her dedication, compassion, and commitment to doing what’s best for kids make a meaningful difference in our school community.

PACKER STAFFER OF THE WEEK: This week’s Packer Staffer is Abbi Horner! As the glue that holds our SPED department together, she's always going above and beyond for all those around her. Whether it's a student need, somebody has a question, or to be a sounding board. Even when times get tense, she is always there with her great sense of humor to lighten the mood. If you have gotten the opportunity to be a part of the SPED team, sub on the SPED team, or just see her around the school, you'll know Abbi is dedicated to ensuring all student and staff needs are met and that we all remember to breathe, take care of ourselves, and make the best of every day!

Thank you so much for everything that you do, Abbi! Not only the SPED department, but school wide, we are so lucky to have you making sure we are taken care of!

PACKER STAFFER OF THE WEEK: As our floating sub, Kris McGuire is constantly flexible and goes wherever needed; he is the glue that fills in the gaps every single day. Wherever he goes, he always has a friendly smile and a can-do attitude. If you've been lucky enough to work with him, you know that he's also incredibly communicative and thorough. Additionally, he approaches every student in this school with empathy, compassion and respect, and builds strong relationships in every room he works in, no matter how brief.

Thank you so much for everything that you do, Kris! We're so lucky to have you here at Cheney!

PACKER STAFFER OF THE WEEK: This week I nominate Eleora Summers for the Packer Staffer award. She has been great at assisting me with the students in the DLP classroom. She has provided me with helpful recommendations on how to support the students that were new to me when we combined the two DLP classrooms. She works hard alongside me to ensure that the students receive instruction that are not only informative but also interesting for them. Congratulations!

We would like to spotlight our wonderful social worker, Bridget Hins, for all that she does for our students, families and staff! School Social Worker week runs from March 1 - 7, celebrating the vital contributions of school social workers in fostering students' mental, emotional, and academic success. The week highlights their role in bridging home, school, and community support systems. Thank you Bridget!

PACKER STAFFER OF THE WEEK: I nominated Susan Marcuson for this week's Packer Staffer of the week! She is doing such a wonderful job with her students in her classroom. She has so much patience but also has such great routines in her room for her students. When I have questions about how to best support a student or just questions about a student, she is always so kind and willing to help.

PACKER STAFFER OF THE WEEK: I nominated this week's Packer Staffer to McKenna Radebaugh. In recognition of her kindness, patience, and dedication to every student she teaches. She makes her classroom a place for students not only to learn music but also a place to feel valued, supported, and encouraged. She ensures that each musician is given the time, guidance, and confidence they need to succeed. Thank you for all your hard work and congratulations McKenna!

Just another reminder of our Cheney Middle School FREE Spaghetti Feed tonight from 6:00-8:00pm! All CMS families are invited to attend!! There will be food, prizes and lots of fun!!

PACKER STAFFER OF THE WEEK: I nominate this week's Packer Staffer Award to Annika Foley. In just the short time she's been back from surgery leave, Annika has made a drastic difference in the student that she works with. She provides that student, as well as the other students, with care, consistency, accountability & encouragement. In turn, allowing them to show her & everyone else the growth they make with her help. Thank you Annika & congratulations!

PACKER STAFFER OF THE WEEK: I am choosing Collette Ritter for this week's packer staffer. I'm nominating Collette because she is the face that staff and students see as they enter school for the day. She greets everyone with a warm smile and friendly good morning and sets the tone for the day. Collette doesn't have an easy job, but she always manages to maintain positivity and humor to make it through the day.
