AUGUST 31, 2026 MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS

SAFE SPACE FOR ALL
SSA (Safe Space for All) Club will be starting this Wednesday, September 2nd! We will meet in Mr. Haase’s room after school until 4:30pm. Anyone is welcome to join! Please see Mrs. Jagielo or Mrs. Boaz in Student Services with any questions. Please have a ride at 4:30pm.

INTRAMURAL GIRLS VOLLEYBALL
Attention 6th grade girls…are you interested in playing volleyball? If you answered yes, then you are invited to participate in intramural volleyball. No experience required! Come join us for some bumps, sets and spikes! The purpose of this program is to provide an opportunity to practice skills and compete in game-like settings. The first meeting is Tuesday, September 1st after school from 3:45-5:30 pm. Come ready to participate!!!*** Information will be handed out at the first session. See Mr. Godfrey or Mr. Wicker if you have any questions. Hope to see you there.

ULTIMATE FRISBEE CLUB
Ultimate Frisbee club meets tomorrow before school at 8 AM on Tuesday, September 1st. The meeting will be held in Mr. Forrest’s room (161). Please arrive by no later than 8 AM and wear athletic shoes and clothing. Anyone and everyone is welcome, see you there!

BEGINNER LEVEL ART CLUB 2-d or 3-d
Attention all art enthusiasts, Fall Beginner Level art club sign up sheets are available in the main office and online. Beginner Level Art Club is broken into two different sessions. There will be a Tuesday session (2-d Art: drawing, painting, etc.), and Thursday session (3-d art: sculpture) which will meet from 3:40- 4:30 in the art room. Students may only sign up for one of these sessions.Each section of art club will be capped at 30 students, so the club is filled on a first come first serve basis. See Mrs. Lunde with any questions.

DMS CARDUNAL ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Each week our coaches will be selecting one athlete that stands out, above the rest for having an outstanding performance, leadership, teamwork and character. Our first ever Cardunal Athlete of the Week is awarded to Emily Williams. Coach Reiff had this to say about Emily “Although she is new to our school, she has quickly become an outstanding and positive leader. Her athletic performance on the court, along with her wisdom and maturity, is truly admirable. She is a wonderful teammate and a valuable addition to our school community.”Emily please come down to student services after advisory to claim your certificate and have your picture taken for our athletic board.

OUTDOOR CLUB
Are you a 6th, 7th, or 8th grader who loves the outdoors and having fun with friends? Come learn more about this year’s Outdoor Club!📅 Wednesday, September 16th ⏰ Starting at 8:00 AM 📍 Mr. Wicker’s Room 154This year’s Outdoor Club will include activities such as:🔥 Making S’mores 🎣 Ice Fishing 🛶 Kayaking 🌲 And many other fun outdoor adventures!Interested in joining? This week Mr. Forrest is passing the U Rock off to Mrs. Hurley for her dedication to supporting our students. Mrs. Hurley constantly goes above and beyond to make our kids feel comfortable and welcome in the building. She is always looking for creative ways to help students and connect them with people who can continue to provide them support, not to mention that she herself is the focal point for many of our students' web of support. Mrs. Hurley also goes out of her way to support fellow staff members. Her all-encompassing dedication to supporting our kids is something we aspire to bring into my own classroom. For all of those reasons and many more, Mrs. Hurley: U Rock!!!

CLUB DE ARTE PARA PRINCIPIANTES: 2D O 3D
Atención a todos los amantes del arte: Las hojas de inscripción para el Club de Arte para Principiantes de Otoño están disponibles en la oficina principal y en línea. El Club de Arte para Principiantes se divide en dos sesiones: una los martes (arte bidimensional: dibujo, pintura, etc.) y otra los jueves (arte tridimensional: escultura), ambas de 15:40 a 16:30 en el salón de arte. Los estudiantes solo pueden inscribirse en una de las sesiones. Cada sección del club tiene un cupo máximo de 30 estudiantes, por lo que las plazas se asignan por orden de llegada. GIRLS 7TH AND 8TH GRADE VOLLEYBALL
Congratulations to both the 7th and 8th grade volleyball A and B team for their win over CMS last night! Great serves and hustle led to the team's victories! Way to go girls!
FALL PLAY
Congratulations to the cast of 10 Ways to Survive a Zombie Apocalypse. Our first rehearsal is a full cast rehearsal today after school in Miss Olson’s room from 3:45-5:00. The parent meeting is this Friday from 4:30-5:00 in the cafeteria. See you there!
