IMPORTANT UPDATE on CLASSES!
As you know, one of the important things about Avante Learning Academy is the focus on small group instruction to foster student needs and boost academic success. Because of this, Guided Reading and Literature Circle classes are limited to 8 students. The K/1 guided reading class on Mondays has space for 2 more students. The Literature Circles class on Thursdays for 4/5 has space for just one more student.
If you were thinking about signing up. Please do so soon.
Thank you so much!

Thursday morning classes cater toward children working at 4th-6th grade levels (not grades). We begin our day with math, followed by literature circles which is a form of book club. Then we will dive into the marine world learning about ocean life. Tanoshi will be a fun class exposing children to Japanese culture. The last class of the day is a creative Art class. :)

Wednesday morning classes cater to children working at 2nd and 3rd grade levels (not grade). Mariposa Spanish is heavy in vocabulary and children learn to speak in short sentences. Some crafts are included in this class that support the lesson. This class is for children who completed Tortuguita 1 and 2 or have exposure to Spanish at home. In Jurassic Journey, children will learn about dinosaurs, fossils and this pre-historic era.

It was a Toucan kind of day! This project took the students a while to complete. First they used a pencil to draw their toucans, branches and leaves. Then they used oil pastels to carefully cover every part of their art. Finally they went back and traced everything with a black oil pastel. 🖼️ They all turned out amazing!
