On August 18th, 2026, the CBISD Board of Trustees officially approved the renaming of Griggs Field.

The newly approved name will be Jack Hays Stadium at Griggs Field.

The CBISD Board received a citizen's request on May 11, 2026, to consider the renaming.

CBISD is now in discussion of how to physically apply the new name to the facility.

We understand the uncertainty and frustration this network outage has created, particularly for students completing summer courses and preparing for the fall semester.

Brazosport College is finalizing adjustments to academic and payment deadlines to provide students with additional time while College systems remain unavailable. We are also finalizing plans for the upcoming Fall terms to ensure students have adequate time to meet with advisors, address holds and other enrollment-related needs, register for classes and complete the necessary steps to prepare for the semester.

We recognize that many students have questions about how the outage may affect their ability to complete these important steps. Please be assured that the College is taking the disruption into consideration as these plans are finalized. Specific adjustments, updated deadlines and next steps will be shared by the close of business today.
