WeGo Counseling Counselors work with students, parents and teachers in three main areas: academic support, career & post-secondary planning and social-emotional support

We work with students, parents and teachers in three main areas:

Academic - discuss and determine appropriate course placements based on student abilities, needs and future goals; offer assistance with the resolution of teacher/student conflicts; provide assistance with the development of student study skills; discuss performance in classes and work with students, parents and teachers to work tow

ards continued improvement

Career and Post-Secondary Planning - assist students with the exploration of their interests, aptitudes and abilities and how these relate to the world of work; help students develop appropriate course plans that will help them meet their career goals (graduation, Technology Center of DuPage, work programs (BTI/CWT), college, etc.); provide students and parents with information regarding post-secondary options; assist students with the college application process, in addition to helping them complete requests for financial assistance (FAFSA, scholarships, etc.) Social-Emotional - help students explore and resolve relationship issues (familial, peer, staff, etc.); work with teachers and other staff members regarding student behaviors and needs in order for them to be academically successful; coordinate with school staff (social workers, school psychologists, Deans, etc.) and outside agencies to access additional support for students in need
