The Crayon Prix A little about myself. I am a mother of 3 beautiful children. Amber will be 18 years old this year and I have a son, Joe that is 7 years old!

The Crayon Prix is an at home day care focused on providing an educational based setting for your child(ren) where imagination, play and learning all come together! We have a baby girl that is almost 2 as well! I have previously been in the special education field for 12 years. I have opened up my daycare 6 years ago, in my house, to give me the opportunity to be home with my children and still te

ach, which is my passion. I believe in an educational environment that nourishes all aspects of a child's development and growth! Everything from a weekly lesson each day to growing our own food in the garden. Crafts and fun weekly themes are a common practice!! What an epic end of our summer program! Under the sun….beyond the fun…the ABC’s of summer was a HUGE hit! As we traveled our way through the alphabet, we had so many fun experiences. From fire trucks, to science experiments to pet pals and lemonade and allllll the reptiles we could find, we definitely put the fun in our summer!

Thank you to everyone who had a hand in making this summer SPECTACULAR for my little friends! We are blessed!

As school starts back up, remember the teachers that are putting their hearts into their classrooms for YOUR children. Please trust us that we have the absolute best interest of your children in mind! And remember to always be kind. I tell our 3 and 4 year olds….when you use kind words, people listen! When you scream and are rude, NO ONE would want to listen! Choose words wisely!

Wow oh wow! We sure squeezed the day with our 🍋 lemonade stand!🍋The kiddos had so much fun and even earned themselves enough money to buy a few new toys (and a few security devices!!)

The strangest thing I tell parents on our tours is, “potty training is my favorite part of this job”. And it seriously is. We start at 18 months. We practice daily. We celebrate when there are achievements and we move on when there is not. We work on pulling on and off our diapers and clothes. We work on learning how to properly wash our hands. Every day. Each time they need to be changed. When you take out all the “other learning necessities” when it comes to potty training, their little bodies take over. They know what to do. There are new sounds, new things to touch and explore. There are scary bowls that make things disappear. It can be so overwhelming for a little child. But, just like adults, we don’t learn everything all at once. When you break it down and introduce skills at an earlier and slower timeframe, it gives them time to rationalize and understand why it is we are asking them to change how they go to the bathroom! Then, when they (and their parents) are ready, those “other skills” are already learned down pat. They only have to focus on learning 1 new skill. Not 5!

Kids are smart and I wish more people gave the littlest humans more of a chance to get it right! They WILL surprise you!

What a fun day! Letter Nn this week was “Navigating The Road!” We have 2 awesome parent police officers that volunteered their time and squad car, and swag bags, to teach the kids about street safety! We used cool street signs and learned what all of them meant! Then we got to practice! The kids took their bikes to the street and used what they learned to safely ride their bikes with friends!
