Huge congratulations to 5th grader Chloe Olech, who was recently selected as a national winner in the Scholastic Storyworks Fayette Contest!🤩🥳
Chloe was chosen as one of three nationwide winners from hundreds of submissions across grades 2 through 8.👏

The contest was based on the nonfiction article “Hero of the American Revolution” by Steve Sheinkin. Students were asked to write a paragraph explaining why James Fayette is considered a hero of the American Revolution using evidence and details from the text. Chloe’s submission demonstrated a strong understanding of the historical content and the ability to craft a thoughtful, well-organized response.

“We are incredibly proud of Chloe and the hard work she put into this piece, and all of her writing thus far,” expressed Alex Jedlicka, 5th Grade Teacher at Norton Creek. “Achievements like this are a great example of the literacy skills our students are building every day and the confidence they are developing as writers.” 😁
