Rifle merit badge range trip and instruction, for my sons boy scout troop.
Special thanks to my friend and co instructor, Jim Appleby for making this happen. Now the scouts need to get more practice to be able to complete the firing portion of the merit badge.

GUN OF THE DAY - Wi******er Model 1892 Rifle
You are ranching out on the Western frontier, and you want to have a rifle that is a little more compact than most - something you could easily put in a carpet bag. Enter our .32-20 GOTD. Wi******er offered a takedown option on their Model 1892 rifles that allowed owners to be able to separate receiver and barrel assembles. Takedown guns were offered in both octagonal barrel and round barrel variants (like our GOTD) with no extra charge for barrel profile. It has been estimated that about 1,400 takedown M1892s were produced.

Range safety officer course today. Long but very productive. Thanks to marty for hosting the class; and jeff for bringing a bunch of guns to help in the fi****ms handling practical exam. Together we had 21 different types of guns to handle for it. Congratulations to the 7 new range safety officer candidates. Now the N.R.A will take care of their part of certifying them.
