Big Boy No. 4014 is coming to West Chicago!
From June 2–4, community members will have the opportunity to see Union Pacific’s legendary Big Boy No. 4014, the world’s largest operating steam locomotive, as it makes a stop in West Chicago during its 2026 tour.
West Chicago Community High School will be offering event parking on campus, with proceeds benefiting the WCCHS Student Council. Food trucks will also be available on-site.

🚂 Not forever—but for three days.
Big Boy No. 4014 is making a stop in West Chicago June 2-4 as part of its nationwide America 250 tour. Student Council members, parents and staff will be helping manage parking while raising funds for student activities.

From June 1 through July 31, Community High School District 94 will offer free summer meals for all children and teens under the age of 19 at multiple locations throughout West Chicago.
Special Friday events begin June 12, with more information coming soon!

Congratulations to our Business Professionals of America (BPA) students on an outstanding year of competition and achievement!
After earning top honors at the Illinois BPA State Leadership Conference, five Wildcats advanced to the National Leadership Conference in Nashville, Tennessee, where they competed against thousands of students from across the country and around the world.
A special congratulations to Joey Marszalek, who earned a 5th Place national finish in Fundamental Accounting, and to Brian Nguyen, Dirk Ulbrich, Ryan Slattery, and Daniel Szacilowski, whose Economic Research Team captured the Illinois state championship for the second consecutive year.
We are incredibly proud of these students for representing West Chicago Community High School with excellence, professionalism, and determination. Thank you as well to BPA Adviser Kevin Jarosz for his leadership and dedication to our students.

The Creative Writing Club celebrated graduating seniors during its annual senior send-off following a successful showing at the Upstate Eight Literary Festival. This morning, the Class of 2026 gathered for Senior Sunrise as they celebrated their final day of school together as Wildcats.
Equal parts emotional, exciting, and hard to believe this moment is finally here.
Next stop: graduation on May 19.
