We are so grateful to Officer Sly for keeping our Heroes safe each day. He’s our super hero! 💙❤️

We continue to salute our School Resource Officers with Officer Michael Sly, who is in his third year at Hopewell Junior High and Hopewell Early Childhood.

A 29-year veteran of the West Chester Police Department, Officer Sly said he enjoys getting to know the students and supporting the staff while keeping everyone safe.

"I get a lot of hugs and hand out a lot of stickers," Officer Sly said. "I feel privileged to be put in this unit where I can be there for teachers and students. It's very fulfilling."

Prior to being a SRO, Officer Sly worked road patrol, drug task force, SWAT, and computer and cell phone forensics. He says his current role is easier than those other roles, but he takes very seriously his responsibility of protecting 700-plus kids along with the faculty.

Hero Academy was in full swing at Hopewell! ⭐️ Our 675+ Heroes spent Friday learning and practicing our building-wide procedures and expectations. Our staff worked together before the year began to create alignment, and today we brought it all to life with our students!

❤️💙 A true Lakota tradition! Our Future Hawks had the BEST time cheering enjoying carnival games, parading around the field, making the gametime tunnel, and getting ready for kickoff! Go Hawks! 🏈
