"Large cuts in staffing, both of faculty and of professional and classified staff in good unionized jobs, constitute the core of the restructuring. The cuts, amounting to 14 percent of overall PASSHE employment, are of a magnitude equivalent to the largest private-sector plant closing and mass layoffs of the previous decade in Pennsylvania."

Faculty & staff colleagues: while the university isn't giving faculty shots outright, the county will be opening up. Also, if you are inclined to get the first possible vaccination, I found it easy to get an appointment for the Johnson&Johnson at a local Giant. Unlike the pharmacy, they don't force you to go through hoops that limit your ability to get an appointment. Rite Aid saw that I wasn't 1a yet (we are all eligible as 1b starting on April 5!) so I couldn't schedule with them until next week. But Giant allowed me to schedule this week, for an appointment next week. FWIW.
