West Chester Friends School

It's Animal Planet week in Summer Programs! In the K class, students read the classic, "How the Leopard Got Its Spots," by Rudyard Kipling, then loved the art activity that followed!

Of all the things that we love about WCFS Summer Programs, having so many of our young alums return to campus as summer staffers is one of the best! When former students (Including Evan, Hailey, Olivia, and Gianna) return to the lovely campus where they learned and grew, it's a joyful reminder of our community's lasting impact. They bring their enthusiasm, leadership, and deep connection to WCFS, creating the same sense of belonging and fun for today's campers that they once experienced themselves. It's one of the many ways the light of our community shines through generations. community

During Community Helpers Week at Summer Programs, we welcomed to campus Lieutenant Stephen and Detective Amber, as well as the ambulance crew from Washington Hose Company in Coatesville. Students learned safety tips and had a chance to explore the ambulance.

Congratulations to the West Chester Friends School Class of 2026! We wish you love and luck as you continue your lives of learning in a variety of area middle schools, including Delaware Valley Friends School, Fugett, Peirce, Saint Aloysius, Stetson, Westtown, and Wilmington Friends. Our Baby Hats Knitting Club donated over 80 tiny toppers to the babies served by Maternal and Child Health Consortium of Chester County. Teacher Senem and young friends, in kindergarten through fifth grade, spent after school hours learning to use a circle loom, choosing their yarn colors, and creating warm and toasty hats for newborns. Thanks, Baby Hats Club, and Teacher Senem!

A very special thank you to West Chester Friends School and kindergarten teacher Senem Sacin for their incredible donation of handmade baby hats for newborns!

This school year, 10 kindergartners and elementary school students formed the baby hat kitting club and spent their afternoons making hats for babies, donating 81 cute and cozy hats to us for our families for when the cold months are back.

Just a sweet reminder that even the smallest hands can make a big impact. We're so grateful to the students, parents, and teachers who brought this together and thought of us.

We were delighted to welcome back to campus the WCFS Class of 2019, who graduated from high school this year! Our young alums toured the campus, visited with faculty, and shared their plans for the future! We wish them nothing but joy as they continue their lives of learning at a variety of colleges and universities, including Bloomsburg, DePaul, Fairfield, Fordham, Northeastern, Tufts, Penn State, Purdue, University of Delaware, University of Richmond, Wake Forest, and West Chester.
