D.A.P. (Diversity Awareness Program)

D.A.P. (Diversity Awareness Program) “This is your world. Shape it or someone else will.” --Gary Lew (̲̲̅(̲̅C̲̅r̲̅a̲̅ We have implemented four successfully active programs.

The purpose of “D.A.P.” is to encourage diversity and cultural unity in all areas of life among students, faculty, and staff on the University campus. This will be accomplished through energetic and vigorous engagements of dynamic discussions on issues and ideas. “D.A.P.” will serve as a catalyst in encouraging students and members to search for opportunities to become more culturally aware and conscious. This organization has educated students around the country by inviting a diverse group of people together and to participate in activities that not only help them to know each other in small groups but also to have discussion topics as a large group. For the students who would or could not come to meetings, we took the meetings to them. The members have recently created a way to promote diversity and stereotypes to the students on campus. Overall, the group hopes to help the campus realize that just because you have this judgment about a particular group of people does not mean it applies to the whole group, hence stereotypes. Nevertheless, this organization has grown and progressed into a widely known and well-loved organization around the country which has created friendships amongst each other that go well beyond the formal meetings. The energy and commitment of the collective whole of its membership is amazingly strong. It has approximately 1,200 members meeting weekly; voluntarily coming together to discuss, role play and challenge each other on social issues, ideas, personal relationships, stereotypes, cultural identities and so much more. I am available to do workshop training to implement one of these programs at your university using a workshop manual and training session entitled "D.A.P." (Diversity Awareness Program) In this training, you will get the tools and skills necessary to spread diversity and cultural awareness at your school. Schools Include:

What a great way to welcome the newest members of the Gwynedd Mercy University community! 🙌🏾❤️💙

A huge thank you to Gwynedd Mercy University for inviting me to spend time with the incoming first-year class. From the games and activities to the conversations and laughs, these students brought incredible energy and made the experience one to remember!

Starting college is a BIG step. New campus. New faces. New experiences. And for many students, a completely new chapter in life. What I loved seeing was how quickly these students began stepping outside of their comfort zones, meeting new people, and building connections.

Sometimes it only takes one conversation, one laugh, or one shared experience to turn a room full of strangers into a community.

Thank you to the incredible team at Gwynedd Mercy for trusting me to be part of this experience, and to the first-year students — thank you for showing up, participating, being yourselves, and embracing the moment!

As you begin this next chapter, remember: **you belong here.** Find your people. Try something new. Ask questions. Support one another. And never be afraid to step outside of your comfort zone.

Your college experience is just beginning, and there are so many memories, friendships, challenges, and opportunities ahead.

Grateful for the opportunity to spend time with the incredible students at Drew University! 🙌🏾💚

From the moment we started, the energy in the room was contagious. What stood out most was how willing these students were to participate, open up, challenge themselves, and connect with people they may not have known before.

Through interactive games, activities, conversations, and plenty of laughs, students had the chance to step outside of their comfort zones and experience what can happen when we create space for genuine connection.

Sometimes the most meaningful moments aren’t the big ones. They’re the conversations, the laughter, the new friendships, the moments when someone feels comfortable enough to share their story, and the realization that we all have more in common than we think.

A special thank you to the team at Drew University for welcoming me and creating an environment where students could be themselves. And to the students — thank you for showing up, getting involved, and making the experience so memorable!

Continue to challenge yourself. Continue to make connections. Continue to lift each other up. Most importantly, remember that a simple act of kindness or inclusion can make a bigger difference than you may ever know. ❤️
