Pre-K Learning Fun: Is It a Number or a Letter? 🔠🔢

Our Pre-K friends put their thinking skills to the test during a fun letter and number guessing game! Using hands-on manipulatives, the children carefully examined each piece and decided whether it was a letter or a number. This engaging activity helped strengthen letter and number recognition while encouraging observation, communication, and critical thinking skills. Way to go, Pre-K learners! 🌟

✨👋 Our toddlers enjoyed a hands-on sensory adventure as they explored their sense of touch with our sensory tissue box! Through reaching, squeezing, pulling, and feeling different textures, the children discovered how objects can feel soft, crinkly, smooth, and more. Sensory play like this encourages curiosity, supports language development, and helps little learners make sense of the world around them. We loved watching their excitement as they explored with their hands and shared their discoveries with friends! 💛

🐦🥪 Small Group Learning: How to Make a Sandwich 🥪🐦
Inspired by the story The Sandwich Swap, our Pre-K friends used their creativity and problem-solving skills to build sandwiches using flat shapes and transform them into 3-dimensional creations! As they worked, the children explored how different shapes can come together to make something new while strengthening their spatial awareness and fine motor skills.
To extend the learning, the children pretended to swap sandwiches with a friend, just like the characters in the story, encouraging conversations about friendship, sharing, and trying new things.

📏🔤 Pre-K Math & Literacy Exploration! 🔤📏

Today our Pre-K learners combined math and literacy as they explored measurement language such as “more” and “fewer.” Using a ten-frame, the children created and compared different groupings of letters, practicing counting, observation, and problem-solving skills along the way.

This hands-on activity helped children build a deeper understanding of quantity while strengthening letter recognition and early math concepts. We loved hearing them use mathematical vocabulary as they described and compared their letter groups!

Learning through play makes math meaningful and fun! 🌟📚

Mirror Me! ✨🪞

Our Pre-K friends had a blast participating in a fun STEAM movement activity called "Mirror Me!" Working with a partner, the children pretended to be mirror reflections by carefully watching and imitating each other's movements.

As they stretched, balanced, jumped, and moved, they practiced important skills such as observation, focus, body awareness, and cooperation. This engaging activity encouraged children to think like scientists by noticing details, while also building social skills and coordination through movement and play.

Learning is always more exciting when we can move, explore, and work together! 💙✨

🌸🌼 Toddler Flower Exploration! 🌼🌸

Today our toddlers enjoyed a wonderful flower exploration using all five senses! The children observed the bright, colorful petals, gently felt the different textures, smelled the sweet fragrances, listened to the rustling flowers, and even talked about what they noticed during their discoveries.
This hands-on activity encouraged curiosity, language development, and sensory learning as the children explored the beauty of nature all around them. What a fun and engaging way to learn through play! 🌷🌿💛

🍂🎨🐾 Infant STEAM Exploration: Animal Footprint Art! 🐾🎨🍂

Our infants had a wonderful time combining art and discovery during a fun STEAM activity! Using toy animals and colorful paint, the children created a trail of footprints across their paper and explored the unique marks each animal made.
As they rolled, stamped, and observed the footprints, they were introduced to cause and effect, sensory exploration, and early creativity. The children enjoyed watching the animals "walk" through the paint and leave colorful tracks behind!

Hands-on experiences like these encourage curiosity, strengthen fine motor skills, and provide opportunities for our youngest learners to explore the world through play.

🐾🎨 Puff Paint Creations in Pre-K! 🎨🐾

Today, our Pre-K artists were introduced to the exciting world of 2-dimensional (2D) and 3-dimensional (3D) art! Using puffy paint and a variety of materials, the children explored how art can be flat or have texture and depth.
They used their creativity to design and create their own unique 2D/3D masterpieces, discovering how different materials can change the way artwork looks and feels. This hands-on experience encouraged artistic expression, problem-solving, and sensory exploration.

We loved seeing their imaginations come to life through colorful, textured creations! 🌈✨

🐦 Bird Nest Exploration in Pre-K! 🪺🐦

Our Pre-K friends had a wonderful time working together to create a bird nest using a variety of natural materials and textures. As they explored, they talked about how mother birds carefully care for their eggs and nurture their babies once they hatch.
After building their nest, the children used their imaginations to become mother birds themselves, practicing caring, nurturing, and protecting their little ones. This hands-on activity encouraged creativity, teamwork, and a deeper understanding of the natural world around us.

We love watching our young learners connect with nature while building important social and dramatic play skills! 💛🌿🐣

The thing about a Goddard preschooler is they’re going to be curious. Keep the questions coming 👏

Personally, we’d hire them as videographers 📹

Kindergarten readiness can show up in everyday moments, not just big milestones. A few signals to notice:

1. They’re building confidence to try things independently. Examples: walking into a room first, asking for help, or giving something new a try.

2. They’re starting to recognize the letters in their name, even if they’re not reading just yet.

3. They’re showing care and responsibility at home. This could include things like helping pack a bag, feeding a pet, putting away toys, or getting through part of their routine with a little more ease.

Every child grows at their own pace - and readiness looks different for every family. Their preschool teachers can be a great partner in noticing strengths, celebrating progress, and helping you think through what comes next.
