How far can you launch a pumpkin?

Our students and mentors have been busy building a Sling-A-Pult for Oh My Gourd! in partnership with MetroParks!

Join us for a fun, hands-on afternoon where engineering meets sustainability. We’ll be launching pumpkins and exploring how composting gives those Halloween jack-o’-lanterns a second life instead of sending them to the landfill.

Our FLL Challenge Team #71227 is getting creative with their Innovation Project!

The team explored w**d removal around the driveway at the Paul George STEM Center garage, testing out a crabgrass removal tool and thinking about how tools like this could be improved.

We’re hoping this hands-on exploration sparks some new ideas as they look for innovative solutions to invasive species removal, especially honeysuckle, for their project.

The best ideas often start with a simple question: “What if we tried this?”

Learning by doing!

Our students are assembling a shooter mechanism that will be used as a hands-on learning tool for our Controls team. They’ll be able to experiment with programming, test different control strategies, and see how their code interacts with a real mechanism.

Sometimes the best way to learn is to build something, test it, and figure out what happens!
