Sign up for a free, guided tour at the Chester County 4-H Fair! Join in the 4-H fun and see the animals and other 4-H projects! These public tours will be held on Tuesday, August 4th, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

The Chester County 4-H Fair will run from August 1 and 3-8, 2026, at the Chester County 4-H Center located at 1841 Horseshoe Pike in Honey Brook.

🌱 The Chester County Master Gardeners are having an Open House! 🌱

🌱 TODAY, Saturday, June 20th, 9:00a.m. to 11:00 a.m. 🌱

🌱 601 Westtown Road, West Chester, PA 19380 🌱

Master Gardeners will be outside at the demonstration gardens providing information on their gardens and their projects, and to answer any questions you may have.

While their gardens are always available to the public for viewing, this is a great opportunity to learn more about the different gardens. Did you know they have established:
🦋A Pollinator Garden
🫑An Edible Garden
🪴An Herb Garden
🟩A Square Foot Garden

They are also expanding our gardens to include a Raised Bed Garden and a Children's Garden.

The Chester County Master Gardeners look forward to seeing you in the gardens on Saturday!

Master Watershed Steward Fall Native Plant Kit Sale Returns!!!

Looking for a simple way to support pollinators, reduce stormwater runoff, and create a healthier landscape? The Penn State Extension Master Watershed Steward Program is once again offering its popular Watershed-Friendly Native Plant Kit Sale for fall planting. Designed for both beginner and experienced gardeners, these thoughtfully curated plant kits make it easy to transform your yard into a vibrant, resilient, and ecologically beneficial space. Customers will also receive optional planting designs for each of the kit themes.

The sale runs through July 4 (or until sold out).

2026 Plant Kit Options
🪴America250 Kit – A red, white, and blue inspired planting featuring Canada anemone, bee balm, Culver’s root, blue vervain, and little bluestem for long-season color and pollinator appeal.
🪴Curbside Appeal Kit – Ideal for tough, compacted soils like roadside strips and parking areas. Includes nodding onion, butterfly milkweed, blazing star, wild petunia, and prairie dropseed.
🪴Tough-as-Nails (Drought-Tolerant) Kit – Built for resilience in hotter, drier conditions, featuring wild bergamot, hairy beardtongue, spiderwort, big bluestem, and purple love grass.
🪴Firefly-Friendly Kit – Supports the full life cycle of fireflies with species like wrinkle-leaf goldenrod, purple-stemmed aster, New York ironweed, silver sedge, and tufted hair grass.
🪴Single-species kits are also available for select plants, giving gardeners the flexibility to expand existing plantings or focus on favorites.
