Presented by the Diane Matthews School of Dance, students will be able to try some basic moves as well as learn about the relationship between music and movement. Children can express themselves through the art of dance. Make sure your child is dressed comfortably and ready to move!

Please join me and my family for an incredible event that introduces young children to classical music. The Kennett Symphony, under the direction of Maestro Michael Hall, offers a very dynamic, kid-friendly, 45-minute children’s concert with a chance for children to try instruments afterward.

“Compose Yourself” will be held Sunday, March 22 at 2 p.m. at Rustin High School, 1100 Shiloh Road, West Chester.

This is the fourth year we’ve been proud to host this concert in our schools. It’s appropriate for children preschool-aged through fifth.

No one will judge you if you need to get up and walk outside for a few moments. Bring the entire family!

At the end of the concert, the musicians invite children to try their instruments and take lots of time with them, explaining how they work, and allowing them to play them. This year children will also be able to meet the composer of a piece being played.

The Symphony will perform many holiday classics, joined by a full chorus from the Chester County Choral Society, and a holiday sing-a-long.
