Sumo Watch Party! 🇯🇵💪

Today we gathered to watch the final day of the Nagoya Basho—the championship day of Japan’s July Grand Sumo Tournament—just hours after it concluded in Japan! We learned lots of fun facts about sumo, cheered for our favorite rikishi, and had an exciting time watching the matches together.

What an amazing first day of Japanese Discovery Camp for Teens! 🇯🇵✨

Today we learned Japanese writing system, checking Japanese McDonald’s menu 🍔, explored other beginner Japanese together. It went by so fast💨

But the best part? Watching everyone connect so naturally. Within minutes, students were chatting about their hobbies, favorite anime, music, and games. They instantly clicked, and the room was filled with laughter and conversation.

One of our goals for this camp was to create a welcoming community where teens could explore Japanese together—and seeing those friendships begin on Day 1 was something truly special!

Teens really do know how to have fun! 😊

We can’t wait to see everyone again next week! 🌸

✨ Introducing: Japanese Discovery Camp for Teens✨

A beginner-friendly summer program for students ages 12–15 who are curious about Japanese language and culture! This program is offered in Cincinnati (West Chester), OH.

Designed for students with little to no prior Japanese experience, this small-group program focuses on building confidence and familiarity through guided, hands-on activities in a supportive environment.

Students will explore:
🌸 Hiragana reading and writing
🛍️ Shopping & dining role-play activities
🖌️ Japanese calligraphy
🗣️ Everyday greetings and expressions
🎌 Japanese cultural activities and more!

Rather than intensive memorization, the camp is designed to help students naturally engage with the language through participation, creativity, and interactive experiences.

✔ Small-group format (maximum 10 students)
✔ Includes beginner Japanese textbook & materials
✔ Ages 12–15
✔ No prior Japanese experience required
