Free Meals at BCSD:

As previously shared via ParentSquare by Superintendent Mannix, we are pleased to inform you that Beekmantown Central School District will be participating in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs known as the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP).

What does this mean for your child(ren) attending Beekmantown CSD? Simple, all students enrolled at Beekmantown Central School District are eligible to receive a daily breakfast and lunch at school at no cost to them, or you for the 2022-2023 school year. No further action is required of you. Your child(ren) will be able to participate in these meal programs without having to pay a fee or submit an application.

P-EBT Cards:
Many of you have received the P-EBT Benefit Cards delivered during the pandemic, because BCSD participates in the CEP Program. These cards are being reloaded with funds to help with your grocery bills. Please note, your child must have been enrolled during the 2020-2021 school year to be eligible to receive the P-EBT Card. The Continuing Appropriations Act of 2021 and Other Extensions Act reauthorized the payment of P-EBT food benefits to households with children who would have received free school lunches under the National School Lunch Act, if not for a reduction in in-person learning due to the pandemic. These temporary food benefits are being provided to help cover the cost of meals children would have otherwise received at school during the 2020-21 academic year. For more information on the P-EBT cards visit their webpage: https://otda.ny.gov/SNAP-COVID-19/Frequently-Asked-Questions-Pandemic-EBT.asp

All of this is great for BCSD families! To keep this program for future years we ask that you fill out the "Household Application" form and return it to [email protected]. The household application form will be sent home with students the first week of school.

Please also remember that the district's reopening plan can be found by visiting the district's home page and clicking on "Reopening Plans" or by directly navigating to:
http://www.bcsdk12.org/reopening/ We encourage the community to read through the plan to better understand what the school year will look like at this point in time.

Lastly, we would like to encourage parents to submit their questions ahead of time by visiting this form: https://bit.ly/parentreopeningquestions2
We will use the questions submitted to this form as well as the previous ones submitted to answer the questions you have as a school community.

As always, we encourage sharing this information with your friends and family so that they stay aware and informed. As always, we appreciate your collaboration, cooperation, and support as we navigate these unprecedented times.
