I’ve been working hard this week advocating for my nephew and some of his classmates. They attend Moultonborough Central School and they have had two teachers require masks to be worn in their classrooms. After one parent complained last week, one of the teachers dropped the requirement this week. The other teacher, however, still asks her students to mask up. ➡️ This is unacceptable.

I spoke to the principal and superintendent on Monday and they assured me that students not wearing masks will not be in trouble. I relayed that information to my nephew and, for the last two days, he has not worn a mask. Today, him and two classmates were sent to the office for not wearing a mask in class. Instead of allowing these children to receive the education they deserve, they were stuck in an office for the class period. One of their “solutions” is to segregate these children and have them do their work outside of the classroom.

Some background information: The teacher has a doctors note that claims those around her must wear a mask and she has an ADA as well. I’ve looked at the rules under the ADA and in no way, shape, or form is it legal for one person’s disability to supersede the rights of the individuals around them. Plus, it is the employer, not the doctor, that make the accommodations for the employee.

While I have compassion for this teacher and her disability, there is a fine line that we cannot cross. Guilting people into being accountable for another persons health is simply irresponsible. And to put that pressure on a child of any age is wrong.

I will not take my foot off the gas and I will keep calling the school, superintendent, and commissioner if this continues. Our children need a voice! They need an advocate! I will gladly help anyone who’s having trouble with their school. Please feel free to message me or call me. 👊🏻

Ashley and I did our best, we met our neighbors, we stood up for our children and our beliefs and we never wavered. It is with a heavy heart that I announce our defeat. The incumbents have a strong following and they showed up today. We are not sad or disappointed in the outcome as we know God has greater plans for us.

What an amazing experience this afternoon was!! For over three hours, my family and I met our neighbors up and down Rt 3. We talked about their concerns and they asked me why I decided to run for school board.

The answer is simple: Five strangers took it upon themselves to take away my children’s bodily autonomy and that’s unacceptable. I stand for our children’s best interests and how we can use the taxpayers money more efficiently and effectively.

With talking to our neighbors, I’ve come to find out the following:
•they want to know where their money is going
•what opportunities CES can provide for special needs students
•more parent interaction— involved in the classrooms
•they want parents with kids in the school system on the board

I am so excited to see them this Tuesday at the polls!!
