Today marks a new adventure for several of our Class of 2026 band fam! Good luck Wesley, Beau, Ben, and Tatum on your first band camp with the HMB and PMB! In the WLHS Comet Band family, we work hard and play harder! We love celebrating a week of band camp with our annual pool party and potluck. With Kimberly Pool being closed this year, we are SO grateful to the Brown family for hosting this year's end of camp Band Bonding party! Great job this week, everyone, and we can't wait to see you again when school starts!

On Wednesday we had a Photo Scavenger Hunt where each section raced to capture a (wide) variety of photos for points and glory. From recreating the iconic scene from Titanic, to acting out favorite internet memes, to taking a break for some yoga poses or a game of The Floor Is Lava... some of our silliest photo ops made for the best bonding moments (do you spot a few iconic album covers in the mix?)

Thank you SO much to everyone who sent us band camp supplies this week. I think this is the first camp in recent memory that we have not ended up with 1st degree burns and hydration headaches ... from Gatorade packets to sunscreen to after-sun gel to reeds, students have been using all your contributions daily! All aluminum water bottles have been adopted by students who didn't have a reusable bottle to bring from home, and we've added more black socks to our SOS Stash! Thank you, everyone, for taking such good care of our band family! Here is a clip from today's drill rehearsal!

It was a BEAUTIFUL day for band camp! Today Leadership students and staff worked with new members to learn marching fundamentals and music to the field show! Leaders took turns modeling and mentoring, evaluating progress, giving feedback, and encouraging each other. Can't wait to reunite with the full band fam on Monday for BAND CAMP 2026!

It's almost here - WLHS Comet Band Camp 2026! Every year we have a "Don't forget to bring ___" List but sometimes our students need a little help getting access to these. If it fits your budget, we can always use some extras of the following.

-Sunscreen
-Aloe Gel for the students who didn't listen to the sunscreen reminder
-electrolyte packets
-reusable water bottles
-reeds
-tall black socks (for performances) - no peekaboo ankles or white socks!
