Jewish Values in Action. From the classroom to the heart.

🌟August Value of the Month!🌟

This month, our ECC is focusing on Shmirat HaLashon (speaking kindly about others).

Shmirat HaLashon reminds us that our words have the power to make others feel happy, included, and cared for. It’s about thinking before we speak, choosing kind words, and using our voices to lift others up.

In our classrooms, children practice listening, speaking kindly, and using their words to build strong friendships and a caring community.

Together, we’re learning that even the smallest kind words can make a big difference. 💛

Our Jewish Value of the Month, Tza'ar Ba'alei Chayim (Protect and Care for Animals), came to life with a special petting zoo visit earlier this month. Our ECC campers enjoyed meeting the animals while practicing gentle hands, kindness, and compassion for every living creature. 💕

Jewish Values in Action. From the classroom to the heart.

🌟July Value of the Month!🌟

This month, our ECC is focusing on Tza’ar Ba’alei Chayim (protecting and caring for animals).

Tza’ar Ba’alei Chayim teaches us to treat all living creatures with kindness, compassion, and respect. Whether it's being gentle with a pet, observing wildlife, or caring for the world around us, every act of kindness makes a difference.

In our classrooms, children discover that caring for animals helps build empathy, responsibility, and respect for all living things.

Together, we're growing compassionate hearts, one kind act at a time. 🐾💚

This past spring, Morah Tal read "Big Mantras for Growing Chakras" by Hila Cage Coppola to our preschool classes, and it quickly became a favorite for both students and teachers. It was especially meaningful to share because the author is one of her closest friends.

Hearing the children softly echo affirmations like “I am kind” was so special. It brought a sense of calm, connection, and confidence into the classroom.

So sweet, so grounding, and a reminder of how powerful simple words can be. 💕

Jewish Values in Action. From the classroom to the heart.

🌟June Value of the Month!🌟

This month, our ECC is focusing on Shalom Bayit (peace in the home/classroom).

Shalom Bayit is about creating a space where everyone feels safe, respected, and cared for. It’s using kind words, listening to one another, and working through challenges together.

In our classrooms, children practice this every day, from sharing and taking turns to solving problems and supporting their friends.

Together, we’re building a classroom community filled with kindness, understanding, and peace. 💛

Last week, our little learners explored Lag Ba’Omer alongside our value of the month, Ahavat Yisrael (love of Israel), with Ms. Or, The J’s Shinshinit.

Traditionally celebrated with bonfires and time spent outdoors, we brought the holiday into the classroom by creating a pretend fire using paper. The students gathered around, using their imaginations to “roast” marshmallows just like at a real bonfire.

There was plenty of laughter and excitement, but the true highlight was coming together to enjoy the marshmallows as a community. 💕

Jewish Values in Action. From the classroom to the heart.

🌟May Value of the Month!🌟

This month, our ECC is focusing on Ahavat Yisrael (love of Israel).

Ahavat Yisrael is about showing love, care, and connection to Jewish people everywhere. It reminds us that we are part of one big community, built on shared traditions and caring for one another.

In our classrooms, children build these connections through stories, celebrations, music, and everyday moments of kindness.

Together, we’re growing a sense of belonging, pride, and love that connects us near and far. 💙

💖 Spotlight on Enrichment: Little Caregivers with Ms. Tal

In Little Caregivers, children learn what it means to care for themselves, their friends, and their community. Through storytelling, role play, music, and hands-on activities, Ms. Tal helps nurture empathy, kindness, and responsibility. Hebrew and our core values are thoughtfully woven into each lesson.

Enrichment at our early childhood center empowers children to see themselves as capable helpers in the world. Little Caregivers builds compassion, confidence, and hearts ready to make a difference.

Last week, our ECC students celebrated Earth Day with hands-on activities all week long 🌎💚

Our Young Preschool, Preschool, and Pre-K students got creative making their own seed balls, ripping blue and green paper, blending it into pulp, and mixing in flower seeds before rolling them into tiny Earths, ready to be planted to help our planet grow and thrive.

In Young Preschool, students also explored the Jewish value of Tikkun Olam, repairing the world, by learning how caring for our environment protects animals. After discovering how pollution can harm fish, they worked together to clean “polluted” water and make it safe again.

Our toddlers joined in too, spending time outside enjoying water play while helping remove “trash” from the water and sorting what they found, learning in a simple, hands-on way how we can all take care of the Earth.

Big lessons, small hands, and lots of love for our planet 💙🌱
