I've got my second Moderna shot coming up 4/29. After that I'll feel a bit more comfortable flying home to visit my Wisconsin friends and family members. Hope you all are staying healthy as possible.

Best regards to all,

Hi Bulldogs!

Haven't been back to WI in over a year, thanks to Mr. Covid. Hoping to put a trip together before June to come back and see my Mom and sibs. Hope you all are still hanging in there. Is there anyone out there who needs prayers etc due to COVID or COVID-related hardships? Feel free to post here, or send me a note.

I hope all are well and managing.

With the arrival of vaccinations, we may be starting to see a light at the end of this long tunnel. Wishing everyone the best and hoping this whole COVID experience will be over someday soon. To anyone who has lost a loved one, my deepest condolences.

As far as vaccinations go....personally, I don't know if I'll be offered shots.
I'm no longer in the workforce.
I'm not a health care professional.
I'm not old enough to be in a care facility.

I can accept not being priority...will just have to try to avoid Mr. COVID a little while longer.

Take "the Other" to lunch 02/07/2021

One possible route to reducing the conflict in our daily lives.

Take "the Other" to lunch There's an angry divisive tension in the air that threatens to make modern politics impossible. Elizabeth Lesser explores the two sides of human nature within us (call them "the mystic" and "the warrior”) that can be harnessed to elevate the way we treat each other. She shares a simple way to begi...

In spite of our rocky start, I'm wishing everyone a better year in 2021....and am hoping we all can stay healthy until this pandemic is over. I personally think it is going to last way longer than most people say, at least this whole year and then some.

If I'm wrong, I will just be happily surprised. In the meantime, try to stay safe out there. COVID is deadly and does not care if you are young and healthy. I've got family in the medical profession and as one recently put it:

"I’ve worked in health care for 23 years. Except maybe nursing home your patients I’ve never know anyone to die/be hospitalized for flu. I know of young health people who have been hospitalized or died of covid. Granted most cases are mild, but there is zero way to know if you drew the short straw. You can go from fine to hospitalized in no time at all."

So God bless and take care.

It's beginning to look and feel a lot like Christmas even here in sunny Southern California. I think a lot of folks put their lights up early this year and I don't blame 'em. I think it's cheering folks up a little bit. I'll probably be putting my Nativity Scene up tomorrow.

Hoping you all are well out there. I know this COVID-19 stuff is hitting Wisconsin pretty hard lately. Although self-isolating is no fun, if we can hold out just another few months, and try to isolate ourselves as best we can, we can all increase our chances of survival. This is one of those times in life where self-discipline could actually save your life. Best regards,

Well, I may be 61 years old, but, I promise you, still have a memory like one of those big gray animals.

JAMES E. DOTTKE, 89, our former Principal at West Allis Central HS, passed away September 6th. May he rest in peace.

Well, since it's harder to travel and even harder to get together, what are all of you doing to stay sane and happy during the pandemic? I'm retired so no major differences for me other than far fewer get-together with my buddies for lunches, etc. I've been trying to stay masked and take the medical community warnings seriously.

What have you all been up to? No political comments please.

09/14/2020

One other little thing. I know we're getting into the political season and a lot of you have very strong opinions one way or the other. I have my own as well. But I'm not going to subject you to my politics or have anyone else doing it.

There are other forums for politics already, so anything political on here is just going to be deleted.

Second time I'll just block the person indefinitely. In this way I hope to keep the discussion about West Allis, and West Allis Central HS, and the WAC Class of 1977.

Thanks for understanding!
