Behind the Gun: Milwaukee Gun Owners Safety Summit was a success! We wanted to personally thank all of the community members and partners for attending, engaging, and lending your support and encouragement to our mission of bringing safety awareness and fi***rm education to our community.
With your support, the summit was a true success. Together, we:
-Distributed more than 100 vehicle fi***rm lockboxes at no cost to attendees
-Placed 100 copies of our youth safety awareness and fi***rm education book, "Marquis and the Power of the Prolific Six," into the hands of Milwaukee families
That brings our summer totals to 250 books and more than 700 lockboxes distributed and we are well on our way to our goal of 1,000 vehicle fi***rm lockboxes by summer's end.
We truly believe that a holistic, direct, and transparent approach does more than encourage tough conversations about fi***rm safety among families and community members; it equips them with the tools, both physical and intellectual, to keep one another safe and prevent the violent incidents too often associated with guns.
Prolific Arms is intentional about changing the narrative and the negative associations connected to fi***rms in our community. We recognize the trauma, pain, and anxiety fi***rms have caused many of us, individually and collectively. That is exactly why we champion education that treats fi***rms as what they are: tools capable of causing death or great bodily harm, and therefore, tools that demand greater accountability and responsibility.
That accountability looks like an honest self-audit of our own mental and emotional health, a commitment to the creation of a family safety plan, a commitment to ongoing education, fi***rm safety classes, conflict resolution, and de-escalation for ourselves and our children.
