The Healthcare Discovery Summer Camp is designed to spark curiosity and enthusiasm for careers in healthcare among middle and high school students. Through a fun, hands-on learning environment, students will explore real-world applications in nursing, medicine, surgical technology and other healthcare professions. This camp is hosted by The Institute for Nursing and Allied Health Advancement at PHSC, and the camp fee is waived for all campers, 6th-12th grade.
Dates and Times: July 13-16, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Today, Pasco-Hernando State College was proud to convene regional health care executives for a Leadership Roundtable hosted through The Institute for Nursing and Allied Health Advancement at PHSC at the Porter Campus located in Wesley Chapel.

The discussion brought together health care executives, education partners and state leadership to focus on strengthening Florida’s health care workforce through collaboration, innovation and long term planning.

“As educators, our responsibility is to listen, adapt and work alongside our partners to ensure students are prepared for meaningful, sustainable, high-skill, high-wage careers,” said PHSC President Eric Hall, Ed.D.

Congratulations to Amanda Maggard, MBA, FACHE on her appointment as Chief People Officer for the Multi-State Division at AdventHealth.

With nearly two decades of leadership across AdventHealth’s hospital network, Amanda brings deep operational and people leadership experience to one of the most critical workforce leadership roles in U.S. healthcare. Most recently serving as President & CEO of AdventHealth Celebration, she has consistently built high-performing, mission-driven care teams while leading growth, culture and patient experience transformation.

Earlier, Amanda served as President & CEO of AdventHealth Zephyrhills and Dade City, and in senior leadership roles at AdventHealth Winter Garden and Winter Park, where she strengthened leadership pipelines, expanded care delivery and aligned workforce capability with community health needs.

Backed by an MBA from Webster University and deep roots in leadership development and talent strategy, Amanda now steps into a national people leadership mandate that will shape AdventHealth’s workforce future across multiple states.

This team at HCA Florida Bayonet Point Hospital is excited to introduce a breakthrough imaging tool that works with Coronary CT Angiography (CCTA) to provide a clearer picture of heart health without invasive procedures. We’re proud to be the first hospital in HCA Healthcare’s West Florida Division to offer this advanced service in an outpatient setting.
