When you come into school this week--you may notice how clean all of the carpet and tile is. We are grateful for another great job by Brown’s Carpet and Tile Cleaning Company, LLC . They do an amazing job making it look fresh and new again! They are the best!

CLASS (Classroom Assessment Scoring System) showcases interactions and observations in early learning settings across Florida. On Palm Sunday (April 13th) you are invited to a family-friendly service followed by a free lunch. This special event will begin at 10:30 am with inspiring music and a message for the adults and teens. During the worship service kids from birth to 5th grade are invited to a full length Grace Harbor kids program. Attention Homeschool Families! Due to a waitlist of students who are interested in our programs we are now adding classes for Kindergarten - 1st grade students on Mondays and Wednesdays for the 2025-2026 school year!

At Lighthouse Community School we offer students a Christian education following a hybrid model that brings together the best aspects of homeschooling and the benefits of classroom learning. Students are given instruction on campus 2 days per week (Mondays/Wednesdays or Tuesdays/Thursdays) by a highly qualified instructor with a degree in education. Parents are responsible for homeschooling 2 days per week using the curriculum and lesson plans sent home by the classroom teacher.

This summer Lighthouse Community School was awarded a grant to improve the outdoor sports court / play area for our new K-2nd grade program. As a result we are installing a new fence, "bocce court", and astroturf around our outdoor court (see pic below)

One of the conditions of the grant was to use volunteer labor as we are able. The work of removing grass plus adding / compacting dirt was finished this week, and the turf was delivered on Wednesday. We are looking for a team of around 10 adults / teens to help us drag two large and heavy (400 pound) pieces of turf into place on Saturday morning (August 3rd) starting at 7:30 am. The pieces have been precut, and it is our hope that both could be set down in 60-90 minutes.

In August 2009 our very first group of 3-year old students began their early childhood education at Lighthouse Preschool. This weekend that same group will be graduating from high school. Recently several students from that class got together to remake a few of the iconic pictures that have been part of our social media for the past 15 years. Then they surprised Mrs. Heather with a framed photo and words of appreciation for the impact she made on their lives. Congratulations to this group of alumni and to all of the graduating class of 2024! We are excited to see all that God has in store for your future.

This year our inaugural class of Kindergarten and 1st Grade students at Lighthouse Community School ended the year with a Glow Party. The future is looking bright for the school and this great group of students.
