Project management is not full.

The generic project manager lane is crowded.

There are still opportunities, but too many professionals are presenting themselves the same way:

“I manage schedules.”
“I manage budgets.”
“I manage risks.”
“I communicate with stakeholders.”

That explains the job.

It does not explain your value.

Employers need to understand what kind of projects you lead, what industries you know, what problems you solve, and what results you create.

You do not need to leave project management.

You need to stop presenting yourself like every other project manager.

After 16 years in this profession, I can tell you this:

Clarity creates opportunity.
