In 1903, Mary Anderson patented a device that allowed drivers to clear rain, snow, and sleet from their windshields without getting out of the car.

Her idea was simple, but incredibly useful. She noticed a problem, thought of a solution, and turned that solution into an invention.
And while windshield wipers may seem ordinary today, her invention became an essential part of every modern car.

📣 **We’re Hiring: Part-Time After School STEAM Teachers!**

Idea Lab Kids – Wesley Chapel is hiring **three enthusiastic and dependable teachers** to join our after-school team this fall.

Our STEAM Teachers lead engaging, hands-on activities in science, technology, engineering, art, and math for children ages 5–12. Teachers may work at our Wesley Chapel learning center or teach enrichment classes at nearby partner schools.

**Schedule:**
Monday–Friday, approximately 1:30–5:00 PM
One assigned day until 6:00 PM
Approximately 20–22 hours per week

**Applicants must have:**

✅ A minimum of an associate degree or pursuing a degree
✅ Experience working with children
✅ A valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
✅ Availability Monday through Friday afternoons
✅ Confidence managing a classroom and leading hands-on activities
✅ Willingness to drive a company passenger vehicle when assigned

We provide the curriculum, supplies, and training. This is a great opportunity for educators, retired teachers, college graduates, and professionals seeking meaningful part-time work with a consistent weekday schedule.

We are excited to share that Shannon Hynes is stepping into the role of Assistant Director at Idea Lab Kids Wesley Chapel.

CONGRATULATIONS TO MS. SHANNON!

Many of you already know Shannon from her work with our students and families. She brings a strong background in communication, organization, and child-centered programming. Shannon previously worked as an Administrative Assistant at Children’s Theatre of Charlotte, completed an internship with Big Brothers Big Sisters, and graduated last May from UNC Charlotte with a B.A. in Communication. Shannon has been with us a full year now, and she is an amazing teacher.

In this new role, Shannon will be taking on additional leadership responsibilities and will serve as the main point of contact for parents going forward.
