With the Creating My Own Kind of Beauty Full Girls Conference just around the corner, we would like to take some time to introduce you to the team behind the scenes!

First up, meet the Conference Director and Owner of Creative Being, Christina A Vasquez, LPC, M.ED, C.A.R.T. For 19 years, Christina worked as a school counselor serving students at the elementary, middle and high school level. She is a licensed professional counselor who trained and received certification under Dr. Lucia Capacchione in Creative Journal Expressive Arts.

Christina's vision behind the conference is to provide teen girls with a chance to have some real, down-to-earth conversations, and participate in hands-on activities geared toward enhancing their social and emotional well being.

I think people mistake mental health for mental illness.

Mental health is simply a person’s condition with regards to their psychological and emotional well- being.

I am proud to say that I take time to work on my mental health. Do you? I hope you do. ❤️

Creative Being had the pleasure of conducting the first of six sessions of our business program Be S.T.R.O.N.G. Together to the Be Well Clinic staff in Weslaco. Sessions focus on Mental Health and staff well being. There was laughter, tears and good vibes throughout. It was a complete joy!!

Mental health is on a continuum scale. Sometimes our mental health may be great and sometimes it may feel strained. Just like our physical health, our mental health can have ups and downs.

How we feel and think is central to the way we live our lives.

Let’s all help push this upcoming girl’s conference June 10,2023 and support our girls in their awareness of their own mental health.

Here is an image of the thoughts that are racing in a 3rd grader about the upcoming STAAR test. I am asking teachers to have a conversation with their students about possible worries and stress that they may be feeling and give them that reassurance that they may need. We have to acknowledge their stress level because it’s there. Be aware of it and help them by talking through it. This 3rd grader is an amazing kid that is gonna fly through it! Just watch :)

I spoke about the importance of mental health. I love trying to inspire young teens to be real and embrace who they are!
